I just drilled a half inch hole in the engine cover right under the inverter drain plug.

Now, I can remove and install the inverter drain plug with a 10mm hex wrench through the cover. The coolant drains into a catch pan. I can replace the plug the same way and hose off the coolant residue on the undercover. It saves the hassle of removing and installing all those bolts and clips on the undercover.

I used a Unibit step drill, but a hole saw will work as well. A larger hole will allow the plug to be removed through the undercover from the bottom. Either way works.
