Does anyone know the correct method and where the clips are for removing the driver's side vent? I've found ones for the regular Prius but none for the Prius v.

It's surprising there doesn't seem to be any info on the web about this.

I would guess a Toyota maintenance manual would have instructions. I assume practically no one needs to take it out so that's why you can't find info on the web. Why do you need to do so?

I wanted to swap the narrow cardholder for a wider slot.

I figure there's been at least a few people who have needed to clean out the vent, so this wouldn't be such an odd action.

Most parts that don't have an obvious screw simply snap in with multiple clips that require a plastic trim or a chrome panel removal tool (cheap sets at Harbor Freight or other auto suppliers). I might go after the card slot itself first as it is highly likely to be snapped in and out. Second, I would try removing the whole vent and card slot assembly using the plastic removal tools.

By the way, where is the "alternate slot" coming from? If it is made for the spot, you can probably tell by looking at it how it attaches. Alternatively, you may be able to find the original at the dealer parts counter, and look at it. Toyota snap in parts usually fit very tight.
