Got a Gen I Prius with 136K miles on its original hybrid battery..

How should I modify my driving style to (hopefully) get the battery to last longer?

    For example:

Are sudden accelerations / sudden braking harmful to the battery?
Is not driving the car for extended periods of time harmful to the battery?
Are frequent short trips harmful to the battery?
Is not warming up the car gonna shorten the battery life?

i think heat is the battery killer. keep the a/c on when needed to help cool the battery and make sure the battery cooling fan is clean and working properly. other than that, drive normally.

Ditto that. Warming up the car does nothing good; it just wastes fuel.

Heat is the enemy of all electronic equipment, batteries included. Park in the shade whenever possible, park so that the car keeps as much sun as possible out of the vehicle, and use your A/C when it is hot in the cabin; other than that just drive normally.
