I have a 2001 Prius that someone clipped in an accident on Monday. The trunk light is on and I'm trying to figure out how to turn it off. It has a new 12V battery and I don't want it drained. I turned off all of the other lights - interior lights - with the dial to the left of the steering wheel.

Any input would be very much appreciated!

    Thank you,

Take the bulb out? Easiest thing to do or just disconnect the battery.

I'll give it a try; it has a little cage over it. I'll just disconnect the battery then. Told ya it was a dumb question!
    Thank you for your patience!

Got the little cage off and pulled out the light. Thanks again.

Thank you, I was thinking of a fuse, but you're right, that's too much. I want to be able to start it and move it around a little.
Thanks also for posting the pdf. file.

Another dumb question: there's no switch on that light I guess? Third gen has a switch, progress...

Still no switches on the door courtesy lights, I wouldn't mind that. Then there's the effing illuminated thresholds ours came with, ugh.

Illuminated thresholds? Nice. They should be switched via the doors?

Yeah. At least I think so lol.

They were on when we bought (new), and I assumed standard on that level, but apparently not. Previous sale that fell through maybe.

I would prefer non-illuminated, for battery drain reasons.

Nope, no switch. That would be nice...
