    I'm not sure what you mean by being 6'2" and it is NOT going to happen with this generation. I'm right at 6' and I have about three inches of head room above my head and I sit high in the seat. I actually have my seat forward about two inches. I have plenty of hip room also as I have huge hips. As they say I got booty for days. So I'm not sure what your issue with the Camry Hybrid is?

    I have nothing against Toyota and I gave it a very fair shot, even renting a 2015 Camry Hybrid SE for a few hours. No go. I'm not going to put a 'leg rest box*' in a $30k Camry hybrid from having 2 miles of my legs hanging over the edge of that shorty seat bottom cushion.

    * It's in my Prius

    It sits in front of Prius seat bottom cushion. For a few inches back from knees.

    Oh. You do know the high end luxury cars are going to have adjustable ones right? Like Caddy, Mercedes, Porsche. I don't think you'll like seats in any of the lower end range. Have you tried the Avalon?

    Did you try putting the front of the seat up some? I do and it works out well.

    Yes, I've tried the Avalon and Highlander Limited trims with extendable seat cushion and they are great.
    I played with Camry tilt a bunch, doesn't help for me.

    Box stays in car except for taking in to service (they might toss it). Pipe insulation has worked well.
    Creative challenge: anyone else have another simple, low cost, yet more elegant method to implement the leg rest below?

    I don't think OPEC gives a crap about efficient cars. Look around, there still just aren't enough of them to make a huge difference. Plus efficient cars aside, the majority, really all, of the industrialized world is still on a fossil fuel based economy and infrastructure. Only a percentage, and still a strong percentage of that represents private consumer owned vehicles.

    Lower gas prices may affect demand for smaller and/or more efficient cars, but I don't think oil prices are kept low, or made low with any or much thought by the producers towards that end. In short, Oil Producers don't have to worry about the demand side. Unfortunately the world is still a long way from being at a point where that is a reality.

    Every time I see CycleDrum post one of his litany of complaints about the seat, I cannot help but think "that guy rides a motorcycle?!"

    It certainly is a "Game of Thrones" between CycleDrum and his Prius Seat. But in his defense, his criticism has been long lasting and consistent.

    I rode from 1988 to '93 then 2003 to 2010. Only commuted in early years. Sport riding there's good bit of moving around on seat from turn to turn and no time to think about discomfort except on the mundane ride home over Dumbarton.

    Everyone says they need good car seat for road trips. I need the same for commute grind.

    havn't seen one of those since unloading our Ford Exploader for the '04 prius. The Ford had' em built right into the seats. Never seen 'em since.

    The Toyota / Lexus extendable seat cushion is clever: The electric button rolls cushion out for long legs and in for shorter legs. Button is near front side and found in Avalon and Highlander Limited trims (perhaps other higher end models too)

    You call that a defense ? I call it a petty obsession, and I really think he should buy a radio or something to take his attention off that elbow that is 0.0038368 degrees off center.
