I'm going to clean my EGR cooler soon and from what I've seen it looks pretty straightforward. My only question really is when I pinch the 4 coolant hoses obviously some coolant will spill, when it comes to putting them back on, is it as simple as slipping them on as before and the coolant system is self bleeding? Or are there hidden bleed valves that need nipping open to let air out in some order like I've seen on other non Toyota cars?

My experience is the coolant system will self bleed with the cap off and the engine warmed enough for you to detect flow from the bottom reservoir hose. Use "maintenance mode" to run the engine continuously during the warm up.

Maintenance Mode to Continuously Idle Engine
(Don't drive in this mode, damage may occur)
Useful for coolant change when adding new 50/50 antifreeze

    Press Start button 2 times
    Press Gas Pedal 2 times
Press brake and shift to Neutral
    Press Gas Pedal 2 times
    Press Park
Press Gas Pedal 2 times (hybrid warning light will start flashing)
Press Brake and Start button (starts engine, don't drive it, shutdown to return to normal)

(Don't drive in the above mode, damage may occur)

Thank you both. That kind of information is exactly what I wanted. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.
