EGR & Intake Manifold Clean Results

I've had good success with Chevron Techron Fuel Injector cleaner fuel additive for clogged injectors due to cr@ppy gas. Haven't used it for a long time though, since they starting putting the detergents in the gas.

Does that stuff really work? Seems like snake oil to me.

 

I've used mm oil for decades. It certainly works for me.
I've used it in my other vehicles and I have noticed an improvement each time.

I put a 1/2 qt in the gas when I fill up every dozen or so fill ups.
And every other oil change I use 1qt.

Again, it has worked for ME. I cannot speak for anyone else.

 

Does it free up stuck oil rings?

 

The ONLY way to REALLY free them up is to remove the piston, remove the rings from
the piston and clean them.
I imagine is you put some king of solvent in to replace the oil, remove the spark plugs and
some how turn the engine over for several hours or days perhaps it will eventually clean them.

I never said mm oil would clean the rings. Though I believe it does help clean and/or keep the
engine clean.

 

These were the parts that were cleaned / replaced when I had mine done.

 

My fuel injectors were cleaned this way.

Okay, I've found the following....

25685-37010 Gasket, EGR Cooler $4.48
25627-37010 EGR Valve Gasket $4.57
25628-28010 Gasket, EGR Inlet $3.56

What I can't find is....
17177 Gasket for intake manifold

I can find the entire assembly but not the gasket by itself.
Also don't know if there are other parts I should order for my 2013 Prius Two.

 

Check ebay. That's where I got the intake manifold gasket.

 

My Amayama order; I believe top one is intake manifold to head. It's all the pliable gaskets attaching to intake manifold.

Does anyone know if a Toyota engine overhaul gasket kit will include the proper EGR gaskets? Thanks in advance...

 

I don't think so, believe engine overhaul kit gaskets are all internal to the engine. Do you mean these:



They are sturdy metal, quite durable. Last EGR foray I caved and changed the (pliable) gaskets at intake manifold, but I wouldn't bother changing those others, regardless of that "non-reusable part" designation in the above.

 

Yes, but you also want to get the FULL kit. It will have the "O" rings for the waterpump, thermostat,
and oil filter housing....
