    So recently
I have noticed that my Prius doesn't use the electric motor when ever I'm on the freeway it spends most of its time charging the battery and I've driven for like 5 miles and it nearly charges one little bar. I did notice though that I run on electricity more on the city

This sounds normal to me. The Prius runs mostly on ICE power at highway speeds, the electric motors do more work in town.

Sounds about right. You only need 10-20hp to maintain speed on the freeway on flat ground. I like the Ford's system where the width of the arrow changes depending on amperage sent back to (or used by) the battery. Toyota doesn't do that but the energy going to the battery is quite low.
