Now that winter is here, I was thinking about putting the engine block heaters on sale this month. Any interest?

I'm looking at a price of about $42 + shipping, so probably $50ish total. Price could vary if enough people are interested and I can get Jesse to give us a bigger price break through the Shop.

Install -- You'll need to be able to jack your car up and reach up around the back of the engine and insert the element and plug a cable into it in a confined space. Use jackstands. There is lots of good information here on it, and that helps with the install. I spent two hours on it, but that was more just looking and studying than actual wrench turning or anything. I'm interested, but don't let my wife know. She's already groaning that I drive for mileage now. Once I get it installed, I'm not sure how I'm going to hide the extension cord.

I am interested, temperature here this morning was -6F! It took a long time for the car to warm up. Touring Edition with 353 miles on it this AM!

I'm interested, but if my car is garaged and the garage temp never gets below about 40f at night and 20f at the garage office during the day will it still help me? I added the foam grill blocking yesterday, will report back if it helps get engine temp up more quickly.

I am interested. It sounds like this is a better alternative than an automatic start, which I am not sure is even possible with my 2006.

    Definitely interested.
Not sure I am interested in installing it.
    Don't have jack stands.
    It is freezing out.
    No garage.
    Etc.

Hi Danny, I'm the founder of the Milwaukee Hybrid Group and I have about 6-7 members that would like to purchase block heaters. ( 1 is a first gen ). We have been promoting heaters as the best way to increase cold start mileage and lower cold start emissions. And It Works.

How soon will you be pulling the trigger and what are the procedures for ordering them? I've already ordered through Jesse but I don't have a minimum that he likes at this point. But are members are anxious.

Some of our members will be doing a group install ASAP, since it's could up here too. Last group install, we did 6 2nd Gen in a little over 2 hours.

Please let me know as soon as possible.

    Thanks,
    Bradlee

    Bradlee,

I am about an hour from Milwaukee and would LOVE to be part of the group install (since I have no clue  ). I am already on this thread above, but just wanted to let you know there is one more for the install. Thanks.
