I did maf sensor cleaning and throttle body cleaning like a month ago or so. I noticed that sometimes not a lot that it usually like pulls back a little then accelerates to the desire speed kinda like it was losing power. from what i read on reddit that butterfly flap doesnt like to be touched because it goes out of sync with what the computer thinks and there is some engine recalibration for it and the computer has to relearn? anyone knows if this is true and if not why has this been happening anyway im assuming maybe my maf sensor i noticed on one side of the sensor it had like slight fog spot if this could be the reason? toyota prius 2008
Basically, when you're done cleaning the throttle body and the MAF best practice is to disconnect the 12volt battery for a few minutes which does a hard reset back to original factory settings and you will get a fresh start and the calibration efforts will start with the ones the vehicle rolled off the assembly line with. However if you don't disconnect the 12v after you're done, then it will still have the settings prior to cleaning and sometimes those settings will take a good amount of time driving before they're properly adjusted again.
I’ve noticed (albeit on gen 3) that after a 12 volt battery disconnect the car will do an unusual rev-up, the next 2~3 start-ups, maybe testing throttle response.
