I couldn't get 6 miles Pure EV if I stood on my head.....LOL, but if I toed an elephant I'm sure I could make it happen. If the EPA said 10 I could see that happen, but 6! that's bull... Loving my New Super Prius
Len, if I understand correctly, you are new to the hybrid game. Even more so than with "regular" cars, weather plays a large role in fuel economy performance. With this warmer than usual winter, you got your car at a perfect time (very low heat or a/c use).
I know, In a normal winter weather I'd expect to run HV a lot more, and the traction battery wouldn't hold as much charge. I expect EV mileage will go down. I did use AC yesterday and still got close to 14 , but like you said its perfect weather for good EV mileage.
6 miles is when the gas engine kicked in. It is not when the battery is depleted. AER on EPA label requires continuous all electric mile. If you have 8 EV miles at the end of your trip, EPA ignores it.
Sorry, I have no idea when PiP will be available at dealers. I believe some dealers already have the cars for sale which were not picked up by people who reserved originally. I will end up paying slightly more than $31K for my car after taking into account Tax and rebates. (MSRP - $500) * 1.095(Tax) - $2500 (Fed Credit) - $1500(CA credit) There is a lease option but in that case you can not claim the Fed/State credit.
