ERDTT = Engine Running Due To Temperature

    The problem with this is that if you really wanted heat you'd be blowing cold air for 30 seconds longer. And in the case we are talking about you aren't going to get any heat for a while since the ICE has to come on and get warm first. That's is why I think my idea (or something like it) is a good choice. The ICE stays off if you are in ECO and the fan is on low speed, no matter what. This is easy to do and remember for those that desire to keep the ICE off. For people who don't know or don't care about this optimization they will probably not be in ECO and/or will probably bump the fan up to a higher speed anyway.

    That's how Prius works since 1997. It gives higher priority to emission and then fuel economy second. No need to make sense out of it. It was just the design goal and just understand it.

    I wish they can update the firmware to do that but I doubt it.

    It is in my wishlist for PiP gen2 though. Not that I would upgrade. That's what I said of my 2006 Prius as well. I was going to drive that for 10 years.
