I have error P3221/315 GENERATOR INVERTER TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE on Prius 2 (2006) EU.
    I already checked
    - inverter coolant level - ok
    - auxiliary battery voltage - ok
    - inverter water pump - ok

I noticed the big difference of inverter temp MG1 (97 oC) and inverter temp MG2 (44 oC). Something is wrong
    Any advice?

The inverter pump may be working but poorly. Should look like the fluid is boiling when you look at reservoir in ready. If it’s just barely moving that’s an issue in this heat.

If you Have never changed the inverter coolant or trans fluid
    Now is the time.

Given how important the inverter coolant pump is if I saw any dtcs like your seeing I would change it ASAP.
Since your in Romania your car may never have been serviced by the pump tsb recall years ago.

    New pump
    New coolant.
    New trans fluid.

    More infos:
    - temps drops on Inverter MG1 when I running all-electric or braking.
    - temps raise when accelerating (ICE + MG2) and I heard a noise under hood (like a hole in exaust).

How old is the inverter coolant?

Did you make it up to step 10 on page 4 (out of 5) on the above PDF?

What have you discovered by working through the linked diagnostics for DTC 3122?

I didn't tested pas 9 and 10, yet. Do you think higher temps on inverter MG1 is from poor connections?

I don't know. Car has 190.000km on odometer, until 2013 was in Belgium.

    More infos:
    - the temp drops on Inverter MG1 when I running all-electric (eg: from 90oC to 60oC)
    - the temp drops a little or remains steady when braking.
    - the temp raise when ICE charge battery

Seems Inverter MG1 get hot when charging battery.

PS: I have also a hole in exhaust.

As a point of reference, my MG1 averages about 20c hotter also.

    - I changed the pump (inverter) and I ventilated the cooling system.
    - I opened the inverter, checked the connections including those from MG1 and MG2. all good

    Same problem.

A year later I see. Did it help your problem?
