Google News had been my 'go to' place to see a reasonable collection of news articles. A few tweaks and it replaced the local newspaper with a collection of article headlines, until last week. Then someone decided it needed less dense content with larger fonts, lots of white space, and basically following the 'USA Today' style of dilute the news:

Fortunately, it won't fit on an iPhone 5s screen <DUH WA>

Several browsers have the ability to report themselves as something else:

The other alternative is Yahoo News which has its own content issues with too much 'entertainment' and so far, I've not found the knobs to reduce the content to hard subjects. Still, I take secret delight at searching for 'Yahoo News' using Google search engine.

Yes, and most likely Google News can be reconfigured to work well for me, but it has sent me looking for alternatives. So far I'm liking AP News & if your a Twitter user, Nuzzel is interesting.

    "Reuters news" looks OK too.

    Thanks!
