Ethanol Fuel

    I was reading some interesting things about *propanol*, a different
    type of alcohol, a few days ago. I don't have a pointer offhand,
    but search engines are your friend. Said to have almost the *same*
    energy content as gasoline; only problem is extraction, but there
    may be some new fermentation processes in the works to make it cheap.

    Agreed. But if CDrive can convert a Prius into a PHEV with a (low-speed) 30-mile range, Toyota could build a Prius with a middle-speed 30 mile range.

    It's not a quick process, but they've been working on it for a long time, and I think the technology is ready now. The only question is, does Toyota believe the market is ready?
