European Intro of 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid gives Hints for US Model

The all-new Corolla Cross

The European version, known as simply Toyota Corolla Cross, delivers both a 1.8L and 2.0L Hybrid system. Only Turkey and Israel are getting the 1.8L Hybrid system which is front wheel drive (FWD) only. The 2.0L comes in both FWD and AWD-i for Europe, however, the North American version will stick with the 2.0L AWD-i so we'll concentrate on like specs for that.

The Corolla Cross Hybrid has the following specifications:
2.0L engine puts out 112kW (150hp) and 190NM (140lb-ft)
Battery is a .9 kWh Li-Ion (60 cells 4.08 A/hr capacity)
Front Motor is a 83kW (111hp) and 206NM (152lb-ft)
Rear Motor is a 30kW (40hp) and 84NM (62lb-ft)
WLTP fuel consumption is 5.3L/100km (44mpg) to 5.6L/100km (42mpg) combined
0 - 100km/h in 7.5 seconds

We already know a lot about the NA Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid except for official EPA specs. Overall system power is 145kW (194hp). I'm guessing the EPA will be about 39 - 40 mpg combine EPA, somewhere in the neighborhood of the Venza. Price on the gas only Corolla Cross LE AWD is $26,095 so again I'll guess about $28,100 for the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid LE. Nothing on the Toyota Canada site yet. Curiously Toyota Canada lists the 0 - 100km/h as 8.2 seconds and US lists it as 8.0 seconds to 0 - 60 mph. I'll let the one liners commence from here.

 

Oh yeah curb weight is listed as 1505kg (3,318lb) so about the 219kg (482lbs) less than a RAV4 Hybrid. It's also about 15kg (33lbs) more than a gas only 2022 Corolla Cross AWD. Toyota Canada and USA have been using pre-production models so maybe the Europeans posted on a production model.
