Does anyone know if there is a way to hook up an indicator to show when a Gen II (2009) Prius is in EV mode? It's pretty easy to know when you aren't, ICE is running, or "Can't start EV mode now" message comes up. But, it would be nice to know if EV mode is on when I'm stopped at a light before pressing the gas.

The last thread I found on this was from 2006. I was wondering if any new information has come up.

Nothing that I know of. I tried to fill in the missing LED, resistor and diode in the dash but it did not work. Either the programming is missing for the dash indicator or there is more hardware missing somewhere that may not be easily accessible.

Best indication so far is the ScanGauge. You can program it to show On/Off for EV mode.

There is an EV Mode On/Off XGauge for the ScanGauge II.
Of course the SG displays a lot of other more useful info as well.
