I'm not sure how much it increases though. Nothing operates really once the charging stops.

I checked on my 2020 PP, the difference is about 0.1v drop in 24 hours period with or without a charging cable attached after the charge is completed. I did it only for 24 hours, but if you keep it plugged for a longer period, it will drain the 12v battery below 12.0v in less than a week compered to taking about a month. As the manual states, this is due to the system checking the charging operation continually if the charge port is open and the charging cable is attached.

Really? That's a lot of power drawn and it hardly makes any sense for a function that can basically be run from a watch battery. If that's the case, it's a really poor design by Toyota.

Update: I achieved a new EV-range record of 45.1 miles round-trip on 100% SOC. The temperature was in the mid-to-high 60s. I drove between 25–35 mph for most of the trip, occasionally hitting about 40 mph, synchronizing with lights well. The hardest part of getting the best fuel economy is to adjust the A/C temperature. I find in particular that the heating robs a lot of fuel economy, cooling perhaps not as much. Note that this is round-trip; so, I am not coasting downhill to get high fuel economy. The eco diary showed 7.2 miles/kWh.

WOW! Fantastic! This is strictly in EV mode, right? No HV shenanigans?

Yes, this is pure round-trip EV driving, very gently, with no HV driving mixed in.

You know I got the 2021 LE and the wife a limited. Such a great deal right now! Anyways I never in a million years thought I would get the MPG I was getting over the regular prius! I'm averaging over 75MPG. My 2020 regular prius only got about 52-55. Wow!!! 200 miles avg a day with just ONE plug in per day! AMAZING! 20210402_095748.jpeg 20210402_095240.jpeg

Try to set the A/C to just below or just above the outside temperature so that you can bring the A/C load down to 2–3%, which will make your MPG and miles/kWh even a lot higher.

    Will do. Thanks!

    LOL

That's funny and normal. Also you are in a enclosed space. This will amplify the sound by 2-3 times

    New round-trip EV range and miles/kWh records: 47.0 miles round-trip on 100% SOC and 7.6 miles/kWh round-trip!

I took the advantage of the empty streets and drove about 25 mph to and from the grocery stores. I would probably achieve 50 miles if I didn't have the groceries loaded on my way back.
