Would you be willing to humor me and tell me exactly what to press to get that graph with EV range on my display? I went to "i" and tried every option but don't find it. Hence, my google search for "Prius Prime for Dummies".
Edit: to be clear, it's the graph in post 22 that I'm looking for.
Did you enable the split screen?
It's not on the left screen (that's the "i" one) it's on the right screen It's the one with the car graphic with the power being shown, then down arrow on the steering wheel. That one shows the EV, if you have any, if you are out then it will disappear. That's the one that will also give you your kwh per mile if you keep arrowing down. It's got a bunch of different views.
Yes, I am in split screen, and have been doing just as is being suggested. At least, trying to!
But maybe a light just went on - I can't charge at home, so have an empty battery most of the time. So it doesn't show if you're out of EV? That may be my problem. Out of EV, out of luck.
It didn't know exactly what 'EV range' meant - if it was the range of your last charge vs the range you have given your current charge.
I will try this all again next time I have the opportunity to charge. Thanks for your patient tutelage.
When you charge it will show estimated miles left in battery, if you have no charge then it will show nothing.
I have gone through two charges so far. 25 miles on the first and it had 20% left. The second charge went 33 miles before switching out of EV mode. Driving is stop and go with hills. Max speed 50 mph and average around 35 mph.
I have a Prime ordered. In reading through these posts, it seems everyone is running without using AC or heat. I don't do that. I keep it comfortable. Also, I will very rarely be using heat, as I am in Houston, but BOY will it be using the AC . Anyone living in a hot climate and tht actually uses their AC that can give me an idea of what kind of mpg I will get?
I presently have a 2016 Prius that gets about 60 mpg (keeping the temperature at 75 degrees.)
Apologies for not reading every post in every thread that might cover this, but was wondering:
What the EV range is for cruising at 75mph on the freeway?
I saw a post where someone reported 17 miles @ 80mph, but has anyone tried @ 75mph? (A constant 75mph, not a mix).
So far I haven't gone faster than 65-67 when using EV (then go a bit faster once I'm out of EV) but if anyone's noticed what the EV range would be for 75mph (normal weather, driving conditions, constant 75mph speed) please post it. Thanks!
I can't answer your direct question (yet), but you might be interested to know I ordered mine June 30 and it was just unloaded at the Houston Vehicle Processing Center yesterday. This is much quicker than what the Houston distribution analyst told the dealer in July, They originally said Oct/Nov delivery so they "may" have stepped up production.
I can't tell the reliable mpg (since I charge my Prime regularly) but my real Houston E/V range experience might give you an idea.
A/C set to 72-74 degF (depending on humidity) at all times :
FWY (e.g. IH-69 @ 60-65MPH) EV range 26-28 miles
HWY (e.g. HWY-90 @ 55-60 MPH) EV range 28-29 miles
PKWY (e.g. FM1094, Memorial, @ 40-55MPH) EV range 28-30 miles
non HWY (e.g. Allen Pkwy, local Rd @ 35-50MPH ) EV range 29-31 miles
So far my best achieved real world EV range in Houston was 32.5 EV miles regardless of range displayed either by by E-tune (36-37 miles) or car itself (33-34 miles) after each full charge consistently for the last few months.
Regarding mpg in HV mode only I haven't got a chance to check it but suspect it would be comparable with Gen 4.
