Ming unfortunately this is exactly what is happening in our country. If you are hard working, you will probly make too much money to be considered for medicare. yet probably not enough to pay for adequate health care. So your choices are: work hard, pay a lot of taxes, and pay too much for health care.. OR stay at home watch Jerry Springer, get medicare, govt housing, food stamps. IMO our country caters to the very poor or very wealthy, not to the bulk of it's citizens the "HARD WORKING" middle class..

P.S. my family pays $1300. a month health care.. the mortgage on my house is $1100.00 PITI

You really should do some reading up on the Stella-case as you have misunderstood both the case and the outcome.

As for the United Nations Statistics of the Human Development Report, out of the top 6 countries, at least 4 are pretty expensive to live and work in. Perhaps that is the price you have to pay? I'm not sure about Australia & Canada but the other four I have friends who've lived there or have lived there myself.

Canada might be in fourth place on the UN chart, but consider it is FIRST PLACE for the Americas.

Are you sure you won't reconsider Winnipeg? It may be a hellhole by Canadian standards, but it's loads better than that crap

I've heard that Australia is very selective about who they let in. It would be hilarious if the aforementioned coach potatoes wanted to emigrate there only to be rejected for not being good enough. Americans have been dumbing down for so long and spend a lot of energy fighting for the right to be ignorant and the right to not be offended. Not exactly constitutional guarantees but you get my drift.

I'd pay the price for health and security. I mean what else is this accumulation of wealth for really? So I can buy a boat or other worthless items? Nah, I'd rather contribute to the health of my country and live confortably knowing that I'm being taken care of equally. To me it is a lot better than living on the "dream" that I can start off poor and one day be extremely rich. Guess I'm not much of a gambling man.

Winterpeg? You were thinking of that as the first stop, right, just so she'd have something to compare to? :p

And have every tiny facet of his life - past, present, and future - magnified under a microscope and splashed all over the media? Even if F8L wanted to go bankrupt, I hunch he's smarter than that.
