Featured Ex-semi driver has questions about Tesla Semi

    hydrogen trucks are not just competing against tesla. There is phev diesel and phev lng for semis, and many other possible electric truck possibilities.

    Hydrogen works great for fork lifts, and there are toyota fork lifts ;-) I am less enamored by its use in semi or even delivery trucks. The big problem is the cost and the tanks. For the bus experiments the fuel cell busses proved much more expensive to operate than natural gas or electric busses. I'm sure toyota can bring costs down, but electric and phev prices are falling rapidly.

    While california's CARB and Japan's METI is happy to take taxpayer money to run a small experiment on fuel cell trucks, there is major interest in industry for the bev type.
