Just bought a 2012 Prius Five! So excited and I've loved the car so far. I've had it a little over a week and have driven it cross country and it performed flawlessly! It has all the goodies including the ATP, so dynamic cruise control made the trip so incredibly easy. Bought the car with 29k miles and I'm already nearing 34k! Looking forward to installing some chassis and suspension upgrades to make her a little more responsive... I come from a track driven RX8 and an E39 BMW. This is perfect for my commuting![IMG]

I'm impressed that you put 5000 miles on it, in just a little over a week.

Black is a polarizing choice. People either seem to love it, or hate it.
Personally, I've owned two Black vehicles, and I liked them both. I think fears of them looking dirty or being "hot" overblown.

Takes a little more dedication to keeping them looking good, but when they are clean...they look great.

    Thank you!

So far I'm definitely loving the ATP! Best part of the car!
Went from NC to CA in 4 days. I've done it before in a rotary car but it was much more expensive and not as comfortable!

I believe I averaged around 48mpg for the whole trip. Taking I-40 the whole way there was definitely some tendency to set the cruise to 75mph which led to an immediate decline in MPG. I would say 800 or so miles had a speed limit of 75... so that's what the car was set at. Had it been 70 or less I'm sure I would've seen better numbers. The 17" wheels factor into all of that as well. But I couldn't live with the 15"s!

    Will do thank you!

Happy to be a part of it!

Well it was around 2800 miles in a week. Only one trip from coast to coast. And yes my RX8 is black as well. I can understand the idea behind worrying about keeping the car clean. I would say that rings true, as a silver or grey car is going to undoubtedly look better between washes... But I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to keeping my car clean so I welcome the reward the black gives you for treating it well. Black may show more dirt but it sure does look great when it's been detailed! A good window tint takes care of the car being too hot!

Congrats! I have a 2010 Five with the Technology Package, and just got done with a OR AZ round trip. I got 50 MPG on one tank, but mostly got 48. One tank was 40 when we were going through Utah and Idaho where the speed limit is 80. Speed definitely kills the mileage!

Hope the trip was fun! We are the lucky ones with the ATP I believe. My girlfriend has a 2015 Two and I miss my tech when I'm in her car! Sounds about right for the 80mph speed limit. Pretty significant difference between 65 & 70, and then as you go up from there it's basically 1mph=1mpg or there about.
