For those with Costco membership, you can pick up two 12/3 50' for $35. I don't have this particular set myself. Just notice the price is really good.

I bought that set and have been charging through one of them for the last two weeks. I did do some temperature checks with an IR thermometer and everything stayed within 3°C of ambient after 3 hours of charging.

One comment for those who use long extension cord: do not use it rolled-up, unwind it before use.

The reason for this is heat build-up where the strands overlap (possibly many times).

So I tried it rolled up (just the last 15 feet) when I did my thermal test.

I've also tested the 14AWG EVSE cord rolled and tied. Indeed, it's hottest under the tie, but only about 5°C hotter than the rest of the cable.

Still a good practice to keep things open for reduction of heat.

The guy was just charging an EV @ 12 Amps. I do not know what gauge cord he used.

Remember, EV charging is a long time use - each time.

That's 14AWG x 100 feet. I know because I have the very same reel and cord.

I had my 12AWG x 15 foot cord (15 feet of 50 feet) coiled up in open air on the floor, not on a big spool with overlapping layers like that.

I think that my 6 AWG, 20 foot cable can handle the load. I use it to connect my 8 kw (30 amp, 220v) generator to my house.

The photo above was not meant to hint that #14 AWG cord is no good for charging the Prime or the PiP at 120 V.
Simply unwind it before use especially if it is a very long one used for short distance. Tightly packed on a reel is worst situation, heat generated simply cannot be adequately dissipated and temp. is creeping up, charging a car takes much longer than almost any other use. Temp. rise is not linear with time, wires' electrical resistance goes up with temp.

Aw, but then you'll lose the induced magnetic field amplification! :p

... and in a pinch, it might work as an induction cook top.

Nothing (or almost nothing) to loose, it is not a single wire coil, "induced magnetic field amplification" is almost zero, induction from L1 is almost cancelled by induction from L2.
Pinched or not, with induction cook heat is not generated at the cook top but rather inside the 'pot' bottom by eddy currents.

OK nice as a joke (induction cook will not heat your meal on a plastic plate (and not the plate)...

This situation results in the cord's maximum temperature point being 15°F / 8°C above ambient temperature:
