    Hello Prius Community,

I bought a 2010 Prius about 2 years ago. Upon receiving the Prius ( first I've ever owned), there was an occasional shaking when pressing the gas and totally random. Sea foam seamed to have made it go away at that time.

Come today, now everytime my engine kicks on and I atempt to press the gas, the Prius shakes extremely strong like I'm trying to shift gears in a manual with the clutch half put in. I have changed the oil, the sparkplugs when I got it 2 years ago due to misfire in the first area, got new tiresamd rotated them myself a few months back. I got no warning dash lights at all even though it feels like the car wants to fall apart.

Upon doing an indepth scan I have an code C0371 Yaw Rate Sensor and a code C2121 cannot receive a data from the transmitter ID1(Main). Do either of these have any chance to affect the Prius shaking violently apon pressing the gas when the engine turns on? I'f not what else could it be?

Could be a head gasket. Increasingly common.

This is what I was wondering but when watching if there any physical shaking we didn't notice anything. I did finally get a check engine lite so hoping to have a code read within a hour or two.

Upon further testing, I got the error code P0302 Cylinder 2 miss fire. I am confused as to I have had the error code P0301 Cylinder 1 miss fire back in September of 2020. Replaced the sparkplugs with LSR Iridium 100k mile spark plugs by NGK bought at O'Reilly's auto parts. The weird thing I am wondering though is how is it the sparkplugs could be miss firing again and I have driven only 8,025 miles. Hope this extra information helps.

    Recap of all Codes:
    P0302 - Cylinder 2 miss fire
    C0371 - Yaw Rate Sensor
C2121 - cannot receive a data from the transmitter ID1(Main).

    Issue Present:
Heavy shake or jitter / shuttering upon motor start when accelerating.

A hg causes random or no misfire codes. Routinely.

Head gasket has been often failing between cylinders one and two. Try leak-down test and/or boroscope inspection.
