Fan switch set for really high temp?

When refilling the coolant after replacing my water pump today, I let the car run in maintenance mode for about 30 minutes (ambient air temp about 70F), waiting for the electric fans on the radiator to kick in. Even though coolant was flowing through the reservoir, the fans didn't turn on.

Is that normal? After replacing the water pump, the amber check engine light on the dash turned off. I didn't even have to use the diagnostic reader to clear the code.

If you have an OBD reader, you can watch the coolant temp going up. I think the fans kick in around 95 C or so. It's a small engine and doesn't put out that much heat, so depending on the surrounding conditions, it can take about forever.

My experience with an OBDII monitor suggests a fan turn-on temperature of 203 or 205F, essentially the same as you think.
