The Grand Tour - how the Prius is used
I have no idea what role the Prius plays in this new TV show by ex Top Gear presenters, but at the moment, it seems like the Prius is playing some kind of (negative) role, judging by the tweet mentioned in the article.

10-States with Good Plug-In Incentives
Here is a recent article on state Plug-In incentives. Some of these state programs are year-to-year so hopefully they will continue for 2017 (since many of us cannot get our hands on a new Toyota Prime until 2017).

Mercedes: flipping the switch
I'm quite amused: Mercedes EQ Brand Plans 10 Models to Take on Tesla - Bloomberg
“We’re now flipping the switch,” Daimler Chief Executive Officer Dieter Zetsche said. “We’re ready for the launch of an electric product offensive that will cover all vehicle segments, from the compact to the luxury class.”
After Tesla guts their USA brand, luxury cars, it is about time . . .
Under the strategy, which is backed by plans to invest 1 billion euros ($1.1 billion) in battery technology, electric cars would account for as much as 25 percent of Mercedes deliveries by 2025. The aggressive push marks a departure from Mercedes’s previous approach of offering electric offshoots of existing models, like with the van-like B-Class. Stand-alone models and a separate nameplate will give Mercedes’s electric vehicles more visibility to...bwilson4web Nov 8, 2016 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 1,481 Likes: 1 Replies: 6 -

Folding E-scooter
Not quite sure how to handle this one:
I like the concept but I'm a little leery of a startup. Yet folks put $1,000 down for a Model 3 Tesla. Still, this is the solution for the gap between EVSE and places we want to shop. Hopefully our hard working, well-paid moderators can figure out where this belongs. For me, it was news but . . .

Can Toyota's New Plug-In Prius Peel Off Impatient Tesla Customers Waiting For Model 3?

DOT Announces EV Charge Station Corridors Program
President Obama Is Building a National Network of Highway Chargers for Electric Vehicles | WIRED
"With just a few months before a new regime sweeps in, Obama’s Department of Transportation announced one of its final moves in that eight-year effort. It is funding a network of “electric vehicle charging corridors”—25,000 miles and 35 states of highway where EV drivers will reliably find places to plug in, every 50 miles or fewer. In July, the DOT announced $4.5 billion in guaranteed loans for folks willing to build the powerful fast chargers that can charge a car like a Nissan Leaf up to 80 percent in about 30 minutes. And this week, the Federal Highway Administration officially christened these stretches of highway as the national “Alternative Fuel and Electric Charging” network."

ITM hydrogen station
I have issues with this but here it is:
As someone who has put 1 and 1.5 kW inverters in two Prius, I have a big problem with the claim that the Mirai is configured to supply house power. I don't believe it but welcome credible source that it exists in the North American, USA model Prius/Mirai or any others.

Nissan Note e-Power hybrid
Nissan Note e-POWER is an EV that you can't plug in - Autoblog
quote...
"What's interesting about this Note e-POWER is that, despite effectively being an electric car with a gas generator, it doesn't have the option of being charged – it has no plug-in port. Instead, it relies entirely on the engine for electricity. While this may seem odd in a world where plug-in hybrids like the Volt and the Prius Prime exist, as well as the range-extended BMW i3, this Note doesn't have much battery to charge anyway. The battery pack in this car is 1/20 the size of that in the Leaf. The main advantage here is that the...telmo744 Nov 3, 2016 Prius, Hybrid, EV and Alt-Fuel News Read More Views: 5,471 Likes: 1 Replies: 43 -
