Just saw this article. This is the first time I have heard of the term "Blue Ammonia". Would someone care to explain exactly how this works to reduce carbon emissions?

"Meanwhile, Japanese carmaker Toyota is planning a late foray into the battery-electric vehicle market, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence. Despite having pioneered emissions-reducing technology in its first-generation Prius more than 20 years ago in 1997, the company doesn’t plan to produce any battery-electric vehicles within the next five years. Instead, Toyota is planning to produce 1 million battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell car sales by 2035.

"Toyota is betting on seeing a quantum leap in its EV development and EV success from 2025 on, when its solid-state battery will arrive, and be ready for a more aggressive approach by then," Julie Boote, an analyst at Pelham Smithers, said in a research note, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

"One risk would be consumers in developed markets don't think of them as a [battery-electric vehicle] BEV firm but Toyota has plenty of marketing...

I see on the Toyota site that the 2021 Prius is now available.

It’s always very frustrating that they don’t specify what changes and improvements have been included with new models.

Sometimes details are available via a press release. I, however, could not find one.

Does anyone know what’s new for Prius in 2021?

And I suppose this is likely the last model year of Gen 4?

"The SuperBattery will utilize Skeleton’s patented Curved Graphene carbon material to achieve a charging time of just 15 seconds (240C) and charging cycles counted in hundreds of thousands.

As in the case of other ultracapacitors, also this one is not energy-dense enough to replace the lithium-ion batteries, although it beats lead-acid and NiMH, reaching some 60 Wh/kg."
