Effective tomorrow, Virginia is kicking hybrids out of free HOV.
According to Virginia VDOT, new federal HOV rules mandated this policy change.
This has limited impact here, because Virginia has been phasing out free HOV. But some 16000 grandfathered hybrid owners just got the boot.

Does that mean nationwide, all Hybrids are kicked out of free HOV? For example, I am thinking New York LIE (Long Island Expressway) allows vehciles over 40 MPG or something like that.

I guess if this rule is true on a national basis it could shift some HOV hybrid drivers to plug-ins. But I am thinking it is possibly Virginia's response to a new guideline, and not a blanket USA ban. But who knows?

I'm in NC in the market for a prius or tdi, something fuel efficient and I'm a little concerned now that I came to find out NC is looking to add a lawthat will cost hybrid owners an extra $80 a year during registration up to $130 a year by 2022 and increasing every year. Anyone here in NC? What's your yearly registration cost? Have they tried sneaking this in yet? Kinda makes me reconsider tdi. We already pay enough taxes on diesel

I've been waiting to share this news for a while, but I can't wait any longer. EVA Electric Vehicles for All is a new nonprofit organization I created to address the many issues this industry faces. EVA is like a hybrid between the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and Toys for Tots with a specific focus on renewable energy and sustainable transportation. So before I go into a long rant of why I created EVA, I'll give the basics of what EVA does, and the best way to do that is to read the articles of incorporation of EVA.

Man I'm a try and keep it quick. Skip to the second paragraph to skip the story.

Went in to the dealer for an oil change and tire rotation, dealer says your water pump is about to explode you need to change it so I did. 30 miles later the car throws up every light imaginable and says problem on the display and won't let me shift to D. Take it back to the dealer they tell me the hybrid battery is bad (and like an idiot I believed them. The battery went bad on my before, and the car still drove just the fan in the back came on and I got it replaced from someone I know). I couldn't get in contact with the guy that I know who changed batteries so I get this other guy and now the car is doing the exact same thing but throwing up different codes. I take it back to the dealer and they tell me oh you need $5k worth of work is not worth fixing. All in all I have a car in my driveway that won't move.

The car keeps depleting my 12V (brand new) and when I get it charged again from autozone...
