ethanol fuel?
We just bought a Prius from a private party and are wondering what is the best fuel to use. I have read the posts and everyone says 87 octane. The fuel we have out here has 10% ethanol. I recall the previous owner saying that they never used any ethanol fuel in their vehicle. I am wondering if there is a reason for this? Can anyone whose had a Prius longer than we have ( 3 days now) enlighten us on the best type of fuel. Thanks in advance ! Jacee -

- Unknown whether it will remain as a 4 seater or become a 5 seater
- The trunk-mounted hydrogen tank may be rearranged and placed along the centre tunnel. The smaller tank will remain under the rear seat. This layout will be common with RWD FCEVs (so...2020 LS FCV?)
- Cruising range may increase
- Quality of materials may be a bit worse if Toyota chooses to reduce the cost of the vehicle's MSRP

Sigh. It appears the general public is still clueless (and dealers are still not properly equipping their customers with knowledge).
I don't know if it's the news editing but the video made it sound like he had no idea cold weather impacts range (even in his old car).
Did he not know that from his previous car - where he didn't get the NRC/TC rated mileage? (esp. since we didn't adopt the more rigorous EPA-like regime until 2014) -

How will the Prius look with the new changes?
The front headlights return to a more traditional shape that contains a single Bi beam head lamp and a small triangular turn signal.
The garnish at both ends of the bumper was also renewed, changing to a portrait shape similar to the Prime. The brake lights curve under the split window and form a C shape. The entire tail light assembly is a little more than the height of the split window.

"Green" car segment growth

Sales of electric cars this year are up 21%, growing much faster than the overall market. Sales of plug-in hybrids are up a whopping 36%. Even so, the whole green car segment is stalling out at 3% of the market. Here’s the issue, sales of hybrids are falling. And hybrids sell more than electrics and plug-ins combined. What the data shows is that people are getting out of their hybrids and are buying plug-ins or battery electrics instead. But it’s the same people. As a result, the green car segment is not growing. It’s only 3% of all car sales, the same it was 5 years ago. So the impressive growth with plug-ins and battery electrics distorts what’s really going on in the marketplace.

The whole world is talking about Tesla’s inability to produce cars, Elon Musk’s unrealistic timelines, and “broken promises.” But the facts are different:
Fact — 9 months after start of the assembly line, GM had produced about a 1,000 Bolts.
Fact — 9 months after start of the assembly line, Tesla had produced about 10,000 Model 3.
The hype and wild speculations are caused by the Tesla PR disaster in the communication around the Model 3 ramp up. It is a PR failure, because in the real world, the Model 3 ramp is as good or better than the Chevy Bolt ramp.

No, I'm not a Tesla car fanboy as much as admiration for what Musk has accomplished.

It looks as if Honda has learned from its mistakes and, in the process, may have created the perfect compact hybrid in the new 2019 Honda Insight, set to debut this week at the 2018 New York Auto Show. A typical sedan profile replaces the previous model's Prius-aping hatchback design, while the front end bears more than a passing resemblance to the Accord. The Honda Insight's interior design closely mimics that of other vehicles in its manufacturer's lineup. Looking like a cross between the cabins of the Civic and Accord, the Insight's interior goes for familiarity rather than the Prius' "look at me, I'm a hybrid!" plasticky mess of a dashboard.

Tesla Catches on Fire After Collision (Speed possibly a factor)
There could be more reasons why the Tesla caught fire, than what we see in the media. I know the lithium ion pack, is located somewhat underneath or rear of the car. So, y would the hood appear as if it has being ripped through by a chain saw?

The New York Times reports EPA head Scott Pruitt has sent a 16 page draft initiative to the White House, rolling back what the NYT calls the "strict regulatory burden on automakers that will result in more affordable trucks, vans, and sport utility vehicles for buyers, according to people familiar with the plan."
