Honda hopes all-new 2019 Insight hybrid outsells predecessor

Yesterday we told you about Honda's production launch of the all-new 2019 Insight in Indiana. That comes after the hybrid spent five years wandering in the automotive wilderness and following a $61.5 million investment to prepare plants in Ohio and Indiana for more electrified vehicles. Today, Honda responded to Autoblog with some comments about its expectations for the resurrected nameplate.

Tesla's latest competition in making efficient truck to crisscross country: Big Oil

Beyond the aero "tweaks", the truck has a hybridized drive train along with solar panels to power accessories.
The individual/company Shell is partnered with holds the record for fuel economy in a filled truck at 13.4mpg. He was only getting 4.4mpg back in the mid-80's when he started his company.

They plan to start a fuel economy run with this latest truck in about 3 days.

Model 3 VINs at ~10% of Reservations

My understanding is Tesla Model 3 reservations exceed 400,000. Then I started following the VIN tracking of Model 3 production.

Tesla registered an additional 3,661 Model 3 VINs with the NHTSA on Friday. Now, the highest recorded number jumps to 42,942. This is a whopping 8,000+ new registrations inside of one week’s time. For comparison, let’s not forget that it took the automaker from July to December of 2017 to register its first 8,000 Model 3 VINs.

Of course this could be Tesla having a little fun with the skeptics and VIN counters. But it does fit the "S curve" learning model: The learning curve
