As one might expect, the anticipated sales volume for the right-hand-drive Bolt EV was too small for GM to consider the offering, and given what we have seen with shipping the car to LHD markets outside of the US, international volume may not really have been one of the original targets of production anyway.

But now the reviews are in and apparently demand is high, so Holden New Zealand is even willing to import the left-hand-drive version for sale (or to self-promote) … if only government would enable them to do so.

Ford Turns Fusion Plug-In Hybrid Into Police Cruiser

Ford electrifies the market for police, fire, and government vehicles with the launch of a specially outfitted version of the plug-in hybrid Fusion Energi that it calls the Special Service Plug-In Hybrid Sedan.

The model isn’t suitable for pursuits, but the four-door can cover over 500 miles (805 kilometers), including 21 miles (34 km) solely on electric power (which if you are wondering – is the same as the regular, for public-consumption Fusion Energi). The Blue Oval thinks the setup would be perfect for officials like detectives or police and fire chiefs. Sales begin in December, and deliveries start in summer 2018.

Plug-In EV Sales In China Increase By 106% In October To 91,000
New Energy Vehicles (AKA plug-in vehicles) are selling at a near record pace in China of late. In October, a stunning 91,000 were sold, which is 106% more than year ago according to CAAM.

Breakdown on the sales by category:

BEVs: 77,000 (up 95.8%)

PHEVs: 14,000 (up 194%)

After the first 10 months, 490,000 plug-ins were sold (up 45.4%), with the vast majority (402,000) bring all-electric.

Looking at the numbers even deeper, EV Sales Blog reports that most of the NEV sales in China are cars – roughly 66,500.
