this is a 'replacement pack' buy a local craigslist guy, - we are thinking the pack has either bad modules / connectors or ECU -
the install guy was quick to say 'the invertor is bad' and was in a hurry to leave , but i got a 3 month battery warranty !

This is the hook that got me ... Toyota Hybrid Battery - auto parts - by owner - vehicle automotive sale

The issue with the voltage readings is due to either the wiring harness having a bad connection at that block, the harness plug/ecu socket has corrosion issues, or the battery ecu is acting stupid. Most likely it's due to using a POS old sensor harness and the crimp at the tab is cracked. Your craigslist hero wasn't able to see that on his Techstream?

This is one reason I always perform a full health check prior to doing any work on someone's car. First thing is to know exactly what codes are present. At least that way you know if something was already there or something appeared after the work.

The P0A7A has 14 possible subcodes. You need to look at it's freeze frame data and get the detailed code for it.

I know the Torque has ff data, but will it pull off this like a techstream might ?

Unfortunately, I've never used torque, so I really don't know what capabilities it has. I would say fix the obvious first. If the block 3 voltage in the video is identical to your block 12 reading, I would get that straight first. If craigslist hero has techstream, he should have seen that immediately. He should also be able to provide a subcode for you.

May I ask what his fee was?

Craigslist HERO: as soon as pack was 90% installed it was testdrive time .. i put my self in the back seat and i have never ridden in a prius race car before but that 1 minute drive felt like it -- it was like pedal to the metal down and back (total <`1/4 mile) .. -- his excuse was 'no plates' and 'we want to run it through the modes' -- park in driveway , he techstreams it and bam, throws code he attributes to inverter - can not remove this p0afa --
he's in a big hurry to leave claiming i 'only have water in the invertor coolant' -- and so i went to get a $17 gallon of 50/50 zerex to drain invertor and replace (pretty sure i had used reg. radiator fluid that wasnt pink). - i also asked him if replacing the coolant didnt clear the code if he would come back and reset, he said yes - ... he wants the 'code' (HV block error like P3012 ) .. -- to attribute to bad battery - he is just stalling .. this guy either is an idiot, an donkey or i pissed him off but yeah, he should have known better than to push a 14 yr old car with 150k miles like that ,.. and he's in the field, duh, do u push things to break knowing u may have to replace them ? that's just dumb ...
other factors: car was nearly out of gas, 12v aux bat was pretty much barely ticking.
)Car has half tank gas now, 12v bat has been replaced but it is funny to see it drop very quickly like some kind of load, like a short somewhere causing excess aux. voltage drop ... *(

Yeah, before test run, he showed all voltages looking good and may even have sent me a pic of them ... the fee was about $325
takes the old bat pack&ECU - and replaces with his 'refurb' but he claims it was 'he thinks' a pull out of a wreck on an '07 with he thinks only '80k miles' ---

his tech stream pulled codes after the joy ride, i mean test ride P0AFA
which said 'hybrid battery system voltage low'
C1241 Low Battery Positive Voltage or Abnormally High Voltage, C1256, C1259 HV System Regenrative Malfunction and C1310 HV System Malfunction

This situation has "unhappy results" written all over it.....
Apparently the car has been sitting unused, unregistered for a while?
The 12v aux battery had problems?
    Almost out of gas?
Only water in the inverter loop for coolant? But most likely water with some amount of original pink Toyota SLLC, now mixed with green stuff? This is asking for potential problems. I think some coolants, when mixed, turn jellyish. IDK if this combo is or isn't heading for that.

he wants the 'code' (HV block error like P3012 ) .. -- to attribute to bad battery - I can understand this to a point. He's merely saying that he feels the car (P0A7A) is NOT pointing to the HV battery as being the problem. The P0A7A is not a clear cut code saying the HV battery is AFU. If you have a video of your Block 12 voltage acting stupid, send that to him. THAT is pretty clearly a problem that needs to be fixed.

he should have known better than to push a 14 yr old car with 150k miles like that After I install a battery, I sit in the passenger seat with techstream connected to monitor the car, and the owner drives. I ask them to put the hammer to it. Full pedal throttle pulling onto a road and hammer time braking. This way I can see full power discharge and regen. At this moment, the only car I can remember replacing a battery on that had <150k miles was my own 2007. I bought it at 143k with a failed battery.

12v bat has been replaced but it is funny to see it drop very quickly like some kind of load, like a short somewhere causing excess aux. voltage drop .. How are you seeing this?

So, fill us in on the history of this car. Why no plates?
