Mongoose is the factory recommended cable for Techstream. $495 in this ad.

Of course the mini vci clones are less than $50. Some clone cables seem to work, some don't.

Okay that's what I thought I just hadn't heard that name attached to a cable in a long time I didn't even know they still sold them I have one that came with my tech computer I guess I better not mess it up.

And mine is bright red and the flex pieces that look like a alligator tail before the cord starts flash green when data's moving and it has the j number stamped on the back of it and it does not have that funny box attached to it with the what looks to be a old monitor plug with the two screw pole downs on it mine plugs straight into USB on the side of the CF notebook.

Just got the D7 based on this, and it will not perform a brake bleed procedure, doesn't communicate with the ecu. Pretty disappointing.

You should have gotten the D8 version. I has a lot of updated things that didn't
work with the D7.... Or so I've read...

It doesn't communicate with the ECU period? Or just to do the brake bleed?

I'm guessing for the brake bleed since it did recognize the codes and the vehicle info. Pretty disappointed in the tool. Bad battery life, and now this important feature.

I would contact their California based support at [email protected]. They also have updates for the software.

If you bought it on Amazon there is a 30 day return.

So the POAA6 code is gone? That may be unrelated but getting in the way.

A generic but decent explanation of POAA6. It seems people get it after messing with any of the orange cables including the ac connection.

    High Voltage Isolation Fault (P0AA6).

Thanks! I'll check with an email to them to see if they have an update.
P0AA6- I for sure moved all of the cables, 4 times with the problems on the actuator. Moved em, bent them out of the way.
Each time I disconnected the HV plug and neg batt cable. FIrst start, abs codes lit up, and after a short while bingo, red triangle P0AA6.
Hopefully with the next used actuator I get, it will work and the bad one will go away.
If not, think I'll need new red cables?

I doubt the actuator has anything to do with the high voltage isolation. I would clear the POAA6 first to verify you haven't already fixed it. Then check any and all orange connectors and the hv disconnect. Particularly any you removed.

Been a chevy HP racer my entire existence, first experience with the hybrids and actually enjoying it!
How would you check the condition of the wires, if I get the code after hooking them up?
You mentioned low resistance to ground, but not sure what meter to use.

Make sure the pins are not pushed in or bent. The main problem might be moisture, dirt or grease on the pins. The orange disconnect has to have the lever closed then pushed. Don't disconnect a plug if you did not do it previously.
