Man, I thought I would never get there...but finally and just barely! :D Seems it is quite easy to get to 48mpg...but seems to be capping out at 50. I am not inducing any additional hypermiling techniques beyond this. It is what it is.

    Dude! Congrats!

This has been a long time coming. Your previous best was 49mpg right?

yea...I hit 49 like three times. I think I can consistently hit 48/49 now. Of course your numbers make me look silly...lol. I am sure if I put my factory rims and tires back on...I would be close to 60.

Don't look at my numbers. We are driving in totally different conditions and your wheels/tires are not helping. :p your numbers are great considering what you are up against. :)

Congratulations man. Its refreshing when fellow members drive a prius better than the manufacturer's estimates. Ride on!

Congrats! Given the wheels and tires your numbers are not bad at all! Plus you have one hot looking Prius!

The competition is not between us as we all have different terrain, climate & routes. The competition is within you. Configure the car the way you want & do what you can to improve your numbers. The highs will come & more often as you learn to drive the car. Enjoy the highs when you can & don't get too bummed on the lows.

Yeah, I'd like to see F8L's numbers too, especially on a rally.

I couldn't have said it any better. You nailed it, Jim. The challenge is within.

Yep, on all previous video games, I only competed against myhigh scores. Why should this one be different.

    And F8L's numbers are crazy!

just slammed a 51.1 calculated tank. I have determined that my to work route is probably pulling 52mpg while my route home is around 48 (uphill against the wind). I changed part of my home route and picked up another mpg.

SoCal...I see you pulled a 55.5 with your 17's. Sweet!

It was awhile back (about 2 month) as I'm still running my 15's but yes I did get 55.5 cal. It wasn't easy though :p as I would rank it similarly in difficulty as the 61.6 cal. I got recently on my 15's. Like I said earlier, u look to be getting the hang of it too & considering u have 18's, 51 cal. is impressive (y) as I know it takes some effort to get it to 50 even on my 17's. & yes, familiarity is key as I get some of my better mileage on routes that I'm familiar with as I know the usual spots where I can usually hypermile more easily than other areas where I have to drive normal.

LOL, in a world of car builders loudly honking their horns about finally building a few cars that MAY make 40 mpg highway under ideal conditions, a Prius owner was sad about getting ONLY 48 mpg average / combined.:)

LOL...got to love it right? I am trying to squeeze all the water out of the sponge with my wheel and tire setup.
