I just got the NVX Prius box installed in my 2013 Prius and am quite pleased. I mainly listen minimal electronic music and this really hits the sweet spot. It's a great solution to compliment the factory audio system. This is the only aftermarket addition I have added and it's made a great difference.

The mold fit perfectly over the wheel well and keeps the trunk available. They also offer an off-white carpet color.

Wow that looks great, I'm sure it sounds wonder too. I just put my old bazooka sub that I bought years ago for the Scion in my gen3 - it was in the Prius C for the last 4 years, nice thing it's plug and play. While not up to the level of yours it sure helps the factory system a lot!

Do you need an amp? Also, did you install just the one or should these be installed as a pair?

I see they offer a complete package with amp, wire kit, and everything. I have heard their stuff in other vehicles but never in our cars. How does it sound? The ones on their site seem to have an OEM color carpet now?

You would need an amp according to the listing.

I had one of these installed on the driver's side although two probably sound awesome. The mini monoblock amp is actually mounted to the box itself. It's included in the the package

That's awesome! Did you also have to get aftermarket speakers for this system to combat the bass? I am interested in a similar modification to my Prius but I want to get all the facts before I invest. Please advise Mr. Schachtel.

Sir Lambdon, I chose to keep my speakers stock, but am on the fence for buying car speakers to create a more balanced soundstage.

It sounds awesome. The bass isn't overwhelming at all, rather adds more surround to the music. I actually favor songs that have more low frequencies now. Mine is a protoype version which is why the carpet is black but I don't mind.

    Marc,

I can see you've been running this sub for less than a month but are you 100% pleased with it? Any criticism at all? I am thinking about the sub, amp and line output converter package but I'm still on the fence. The low profile of this sub is very attractive but I've never owned NVX before so I'm concerned about quality and durability. I've had the same JL Audio subs and Kicker amp in my other car for 11 years and they still sound sweet despite all those cold winters and hot summers.

Did you update your factory speakers? I'm very happy with the factory audio in my Prius Two. A sub would round it out perfectly.

Jamie, I have been running this sub for over 6 months and it play's great day in and out. If your concerned about the NVX build quality check out this article on their tesla box. I have yet to update the stock speakers because I am enjoying the sound already but adding speakers would make the system unbelievable.

The KS Series 6x9" in front doors and 6.5" in rear will fit and sound so good I didn't need an amp. I also added about 50lbs of sound damping material so that also makes a big difference.
