I agree Hoggy, that is the procedure that worked for me as well. Can you post your experience in the Sticky thread under the Gen II Main forum?

What is the master key? Can I add a Brand New Key that has not been previously programmed if I do not have any other keys? Someone has a Prius for sale for $1,000 but he lost the key fobs and has no key for the car.

    In a word, no.

You will need to have the dealer reseed and add a new key. When you have this working key you can then buy another new key fob (online) and add it using the chicken dance.

It won't be cheap $400-$600 to add a new key. Get a price from a dealer and then factor that into your buy price. (Plus if you want a spare key add another $110)

After programming and registering an new key fob with the procedure in the pdf, you can unlock your Prius by touching the door handle (SKS feature) or by pressing the unlock button on the remote. Your Prius needs to have the SKS feature for this to work.
