Is Thunderbird going to get to V2 soon? I notice some extensions won't work with 1.5.07 and request 2.0.

My Help-->About Mozilla Firefox says my version is 1.5.0.7. When I check for updates, it says "No Updates Found."

Not sure what's going on. Is Firefox 2.0 not quite ready for wide release?

FF2 is a new release, not an update – therefor 1.5 will not update to 2.0. (I wish it worked that way with our Prii . . . bring it in to the shop for maintenance and drive away with a brand new car ;) )

    Download FF2 and install.

“Please note that installing Firefox 2 will overwrite your existing installation of Firefox. You won't lose any of your bookmarks or browsing history, but some of your extensions and other add-ons might not work until updates for them are made available.â€

I'm confused what you mean by, “some extensions won't work with 1.5.07 and request 2.0.â€
What are the names of the extensions are you talking about?

Yes, there is a Thunderbird 2 on the horizon. Right now Tb2 is in Alpha testing and should be going Beta soon. They would like to release Tb2 in late November or early December, but like war in Iraq . . . ;)

I have FF 2.0 at work and haven't tried all the extensions, but I did see that some themes don't work (at least not yet).

    Thanks, Sufferin'.

I kept waiting for FF to update itself as it always has but nada, zero, zilch. Now I know why!

    Again, thanks.

Can't remember them all, but the French spell-checker was one of them.

So I was running FF2, and while there were some things I didn't like, I figured, okay, that's the price of progress. But I was using AdBlock Plus and it was blocking some stuff I didn't want blocked. Stuff like embedded video. And its pop-up gave me the opportunity to block more stuff, but never an option to "don't block this," for the stuff it was blocking that I didn't want blocked. So I roamed around the menus until I found a list of extensions and selected AdBlock Plus and told it to disable and it said it would be disabled next time I started FF, so I quit and restarted the program...

And lo and behold, I am back to FF 1.5.

I have no idea how that happened.

Yes, I do. When I quit FF it disappeared from the dock. So I went to the Finder -> Applications -> Firefox -> firefox.app and started it from that, and apparently that was the old FF, which did not get deleted when I installed the new one. And I think I like 1.5 better than 2.

I am running FF2.0 and need a web page translator. Any suggestions?
