Thousand Oaks Toyota. Paperwork already signed, no dealer add ons except the Cat shield, which I requested.

By the way, we have never seen any photographs of the LE and SE models yet, except for one Japanese-spec model in a video. I am looking forward to see how the LE and SE models actually look like.

On the Toyota inventory, it is showing as in the build phase. See my post below.

Toyota Logistics Services at the Port of Long Beach is apparently where the new Toyotas are arriving at and having their accessories installed.

So, then the build phase probably means that the vehicle has arrived at the port and waiting for the OEM accessories to be installed and the window sticker to be attached.

In transit probably means that the accessories have been installed at the port and the vehicle is in queue for getting on a truck.

    I only got two questions:

    1. Did they actually get rid of the engine cover?
    2. What does the wheel look like under the cover?

The wheel cover looks kinda clunky/cheap? And it needs to be pulled off for lug nut (or bolt??) access. Not a big fan of the black plastic trim 'round the wheel well either, the CUV look.

@bisco et al., it has happened!

I see that on the LE they use matte external rubber trim on the bumpers and wheel wells as opposed to shiny black trim on higher trims. That is kinda cheapo-looking unfortunately.

Guardian gray seems to be a bluish medium gray. It is not as bad as some other wet-cement-like colors on the road today.

As I said, "in build phase" means the vehicle has been logged at Port of Long Beach with an ETA to the dealer of 1 month or less, and "in transit" means the accessories have been installed at the port and the vehicle is in queue to be put on a truck or train, with an ETA to the dealer of 2 weeks or less. This means that by mid-March, the dealers will be packed with 2023 Priuses. 2023 Prius Primes should pack the dealers in mid-June.

once our 2011 Leaf arrived at the stealership - it was another couple weeks until they got around to checking it in and doing what ever inspection they do for new cars. Hopefully others don't do like nissan.

They need to install the plugs in the transportation holes etc. and go through the whole preparation checklist, but it shouldn't take that long.

Just to clarify Gokhan's point a little. I've had Toyotas since the early 1980s and every one of them has had at least one keyed lock. In recent years the shift has been towards having only one keyed lock, and that's on the driver's door. You should examine your key-fob if If you have a keyless entry system. The fob should have a hidden key that pops up when you press in the right spot. The key is trimmed down to a minimalist design so that the key fob does not clutter your pocket too much.
