Hi All! I have been lurking on here for some time, finally got around to photographing my prius.

She has been a fantastic car so far at 110,000km.

No repairs, (outside regular maintenance) no speeding tickets, great on gas

just a shame she is so boring to drive... however I drive alot for work and this thing as been worth its weight in gold for keeping me away from gas pumps and mechanic shops.

Very nice. (Where in Canada, btw? That weeping willow in the background looks exactly like the one we had in our yard in Creston, B.C., where I grew up)

I had a feeling you were in the Kootenays or nearby. Funny how I could tell just by your pictures. Grand Forks is the town that most reminds me of Creston. I'm glad we finally heard from you.

    Welcome to the club!

Looks like we've got the same year. I regret getting the base model, but that was all that was available when I was looking to buy.

Boring to drive, I can agree with...but you can always set the display to Drive Information and play the fuel economy game.

Haha, I know that game well.

Is there anyone on here who has put aftermarket batteries to give some real EV range in a C?

You can't really do much EV range AFAIK. I mean, you can cruise around for a bit, but the moment you accelerate, you're out of EV...or when you go up a hill, or if you head up a hill...etc.

I'm not sure if more battery power would equal more EV, because the motor does need to run occasionally to lubricate the ICE engine.

But...I'm not mechanically inclined, just a bit of an eco-geek.

If you're going to go down that road you're far better off getting a true battery-only EV. The Chevy Bolt can go almost 400km on its battery, or if that's not enough you can buy a range-extended EV such as the Chevy Volt which can go 80km on battery only and then another 400+ km on its gas engine.
