Hi there! I'm a first time car buyer, and I'm looking to get a Prius because I want something that will last for a long time and have low cost of ownership. Three main options:
    - 2010 Prius with 155k miles. Single owner, clean Carfax, $5500.
    - 2011 Prius with 110k miles. Two owners, minor cosmetic damage reported on carfax, $7400.
    - 2007 Prius with 110k miles. Three owners, clean Carfax, $6000.

I do have enough savings and job stability to handle repairs on the car if needed, and I'm just looking for something I could hold onto for the forseeable future. Thoughts? Thanks!

    welcome!

1&2 have egr and head gasket problems, along with potential hybrid battery, a/c compressor and brake actuator failure.

3 is a great car, but you should plan on a new hybrid battery and potentially an a/c compressor and brake actuator.

oil burning in all three is a potential issue, but there's no way to check that i know of.

a large repair nest egg solves any issue

I would just buy a regular gasser given the to do list above, which i agree to. After the necessary services done, all the money saved with fuel savings will be spent up front on the repairs and upcoming 120k maintenance.

Per these members you should never buy anything used....it might not be as good as new!
