    Fascinating article until I came to:

    and standards that require parts to be held below 140 degrees F and those to be touched below 185 degrees F.

    So looking at my BMW i3-REx, nominal 370 VDC. So 350 kW would be ~945A. Huh????

    Ok, let's take 100A as an upper limit for a human-scale, power cable, which requires insulation handling 3500 VDC. This is not unreasonable, well within current wire technology even for a human handled cable. But there are challenges in how to get the battery pack configured to handle these voltages. Again, not impossible but challenging.
