Sorry if I ask this in the wrong place, but long story short, I'm planning to upgrade my living room with a 75 inch tv. I'm gonna drop by best buy to pick up the TV sometime later this week but my current dilemma is that I'm not sure if the TV gonna fit inside the prime trunk or not. Anyone here have prior experience in this matter ???

I know on the Prius V forum, someone manage to put in a 75 nice and neat within the trunk, but I don't know if the prime have the same trunk space as the V or not

    65 inch led tv

Your problem is probably the box.
I believe a 75-inch TV is about 37 inch high in reality and 66 inch long.
Perhaps ask Best Buy if anyone takes out of box for taking home.

Looks to me naked no box it *might* barely fit in my Gen2 which is 38-in wide and you'd have to put the front seats as far forward, and that's if you're lucky.

Taking it out of the box does have some risk, aside from the obvious like scratches and other cosmetic damage. Putting too much pressure on the display screen, or applying torque or twisting on the screen can also damage the display panel.

If you have to, rent a truck or van. Lowes and Home Depot rent trucks for as low as $20 an hour.

Ask what delivery cost. Those TV's are pretty heavy too.

Those TVs are meant to be handled upright to avoid risk of cracking the screen

Yes, it's dangerous to lay it down in transport. I'd have it delivered or rent a PU truck and strap it vertical in the middle of the box. BTW, they aren't actually very heavy. Just awkward, takes two to handle properly. You want heavy? Try a 39" tube TV! The Toshiba I had was over 270 lbs! ;)

Best Buy offers delivery, and also delivery and set up, uncluding the wall mounted holder, and an extended warranty, As mentioned, don't lay it down.

My Toshiba was also a beast. I had to bring a commercial grade dolly into the house to get it out.

Thanks for the advice you guys. Yea I contact Best Buy and they said home delivery will cost an additional 60 bucks. Hence why I was hoping I can just put it in the trunk of my car and save 60 bucks

Home Depot: $19 for 75 minutes. Additional 15 minute increments cost $5

True for the sound, so add a sound bar to these new thin Tv's.
I grabbed a sony 200$ 7.1channel amp with lots of dolby choices and have surround,
Another choice if alone is earphones.

The sound on the heavy suckers was not much better btw.

Penny wise pound foolish, these tv's are fragile.
Sticking the sucker on the wall will keep it from going to ground.

Yep. Not only is the pane of glass large, it must be thin given how light these TVs are.

I think we had the same thing, or very similar. I would call it The Beast. My brother-in-law had bought it years back, wanted to have the latest-and-greatest.

Anyway, it lurked around our place for years till I decided it had to go to the recyclers. Younger son and I manhandled it into the hatch, after some crabwalking it around a few corners and using a flat roller thing when we could, and then drove it over to Returnit. Went in to let them know what we had.

Diminutive 5 foot nothing oriental women came out with a dolly, told us to flip the power cord over the back of it and then stay out of her way. She tilted the dolly, yoinked somehow, and like magic it rocked out and onto the dolly. She wheeled around, and ran it into the place, including a short/steep ramp along the way.

We just kinda stood there...

These new TV's are light compared to the old CRT's bit I just checked and a 75 inch Samsung shipping weight is 95 pounds. Its one thing

to carry it on a flat surface but something else to drag it into a Prius. It's your back, you decide.

I have laid them down without a problem but you only see them standing up in the store. The good thing about it is if it doesn't work when

you get it home you can always take it back.
