They're part of the circuitboard, it's not an easy fix.

I thought of that but a used one is around 50 bucks, don't want to waste the money, thanks

I used to fix LCD TV's and you can use a heat gun to melt all the solder at once and lift the switch off then drop the new one in, its finding the right switch Im worried about..

48mpg, any luck with the FOB? polmex australia has the external rubber buttons (not sure if this will help anyone)

My lock button does not work on my FOB, the light does not turn on when i press lock and the rubber pad has been worn off (so switch is exposed). The other issue is that the previous car owner glued the remote shut.... Not having this button is preventing me from programming SKS functionality on my other remote... Any tips on:
    - Diagnosing what the problem could be? (all other buttons work and SKS functionality is intact).
    - In case i need a new button switch, has the correct replacement switch turned up?
    - How to open a seemingly glued remote without wrecking it?
    - Programming SKS functionality when the master key has a non-functioning lock button?
