The link works for me, and I might use it.

I buy Mobil because it's fairly good and you can get it anywhere.
I don't use their filters but I might one time before the end of the rebate if the cost delta is worth it.

    $15 rebate check?
    Oh yeah.
That's worth a stamp and 10 minutes of my time.

    Thanks!

I do try to use the Mobil-1 filters which come pretty well recommended from Amazon users. I used to get em at Walmart but now they do not seem carry them in my store.

Looks like Walmart is not one of the participating retailers for this deal.

   ...

I've looked at a lot of UOA's over the years and would hardly be convinced of this. It may lean in the other direction, IMO. Not sure where Mobile slots in :D.

Mendel: UOA = used oil analysis ;)

There's some bizarre shakeup happening with the Mobil 1 product line. At Walmart there's a new "Annual Protection" 20k oil for $50 (!) and the EP 15k is now $25 the same price as the normal M1 and HM. They've added a HM 0w-20 but now the non-EP/AP oil is no longer Dexos certified, whatever that means.

That might mean wasn't yet certified to meet the new Dexos1, Gen 2 (not to be confused with Dexos2) requirements.

I was mistaken, the M1 is still dexos (don't know which version) but not M1 HM. Same with Pennzoil who now also have a HM synthetic 0w-20. Maybe they just don't bother with the certification on high mileage oils.
