I stumbled across Ford Hybrids Prove Durability By Racking Up Most Taxi Miles today and stumbled across this teardown that I didn't know about.

Unfortunately, he didn't show the cooling components that he said he would. I'm surprised to learn they have a battery fan filter, unlike Toyota hybrids.

I also dug around and found

Toyotas have had a battery fan since the second generation.

They all have cooling fans(maybe the Insight doesnt), at least the ones I had did, I remember hearing them every so often and wondered, whats that noise? Nice find though!

It draws the air from outside, like Gen1 Prius. Gen2 Prius switched from outside to cabin air.

:oops:I left out a word. I knew Priuses have battery fans (I'm familiar with it in mine). I meant that I was surprised to learn they have a battery fan filter. None of the liftbacks have a filter for the battery fan.
