Rats. Mine came in today. I really needed the 300AAC dies instead but......I officially have a plastic bag that reportedly contains 4 now-nearly-useless test kits. (useless FOR now?) Time will tell. I didn't open the container to check on the expiration date but rather my intentions are to use it for a door stop for several months just in case I'm compelled to use them.
We received our ordered Covid test kits today from the Government. We ordered Wednesday of this week so it took 4 days. Ours were mailed from Topeka KS. Received 2 boxes - two test kit in each box
ours finally arrived, i can't believe it. do not know why they couldn't put the free masks in the same package, maybe they came direct from the mfg? of course, there's no more virus here, and all the mandates are being lifted. maybe they'll come in handy next winter, but i hope not.
The test kit do have an expiration date - ours say use by 2022-08-06. This was located on the back of the box directly to the right of the scan symbol box. These will last till the end of the school year, which here is the end of May and we would probably use them for the kids so that's good. Our state's numbers are improving also - we have had a positivity rate as high as 34% in mid February to a rate of 10.06% as of Friday February 26. Our Medical Professional and Hospitals are beginning to see a slow return to some normalcy.
I wished we could have received our test kits before catching covid during a road trip for skiing. But by not having our own tests, or access to weekend local testing in remote Montana, there was also nothing to force us into hotel room lockdown. Thus, by the time we could get tested first thing on Monday morning, we were already home, in a much more comfortable and workable isolation situation.
Just ordered the second set of free tests this morning. Hopefully the expire date will be a little further out than the tests we received the first go-round (they expire in April). When can we order more COVID tests? Here's how to get a free one - MarketWatch
Up here in BC anyone 70 or over can pick up a pack with 5 tests for free, and specific pharmacies. Got it and asked how demand was: they said brisk but they still had good amount in stock. I see they've dropped the age requirement to 60 now. And you can get another kit in 28 days if needed.
OK..... Start the clock! I have not received the email confirmation but this post is pretty close to the date/time I placed my order and received an on-screen confirmation # . Ordered another set today, even though the first set is still sealed in its bag. Since we have a teacher in the family.....you never know. If the (political) science changes.....we may need to have a clear test to cross state borders or buy food. I'll update when (if) it comes in.
OK, I ordered our 2nd test kits also on Monday 3/7. We received the package today Friday 3/11. 4 days turn around. Better than the first time. Almost as good as Amazon Prime.
I walked into the local pharmacy and walked out with a couple test kits, and (other than showing my insurance card) didn't pay anything. No waiting.
Yeah, if I can find them in stock, I can do that too. The last three times looking for kits in a local pharmacy, they were all out of stock. It may have eased by now.
Got my second door-stop Yesterday....making it a 6 day turn around. I hope that they expire - unopened and unused.
Got the second shipment today -- supposedly -- I subscribe to the USPS Informed Delivery And it says it has been delivered and is in the mailbox.....and while informed delivery is usually correct, there have been a few times in the past few years whereas it says an item is out for delivery TODAY, but said envelope does not show until a day or two afterward. Since our mail is delivered to a "community grouping" of boxes about half-a-mile away, informed service is somewhat handy in keeping me from trooping off in the rain or snow just to find an empty mailbox. So, seven days in total for the second round of tests compared to -- what was it? 18 days for the first shipment.
Got around to opening the new package of tests -- there were five of them versus the four tests in the first shipment. Instead of IHealth brand, these were Siemens and instead of an April expire date, these are December.
My kid teaches 5th grade.....and I'm a 'mudge. Mine will be opened as and when needed. If history is a guide.....the (whatever's after Omicron) will be more contagious and even less deadly.....and come after everybody has taken their eye off the ball.
Anyone order from the lastest go-round...I just did. This lastest will be my third. Still have not used one test ..So, guess I will have 16 tests floating about the house, but four have expired and another four expire in december.
Ordered for the 3rd. time, and will come in handy as the grandkids will be visiting. It's been years since we seen them as they live on the west coast. Used 2 a while ago results neg.
Third batch en route. Intentions are to donate or save in case I have to use them to buy government issued food or fuel coupons. Not sure when the expiration dates are for batches 1 or 2 since no need for those has yet arisen. Film at 11.
