Just got back from the tint shop. 10 windows, 35% all the way around.

Crazy what a little tint does to the appearance to your car. Anyway just thought I would share a couple pics, feedback welcome.

Thanks 32k. I got a pretty good deal. 10 Luminar tinted windows with lifetime guarantee for $225 out the door, took a little over 2 hours.

    Very nice. :)

I have to take mine back in and have him redo a couple of windows. I can handle one or two lint bubbles but not a few in each window.

I was going to call today for an appointment. I was think 35% and this looks good with BP. Thanks for posting.

what "series" is your llumar tint?

how is the night time visibility?

how is the heat in your car compare to before?

I am thinking of getting limo (darker than front windows) for more privacy. Anyone done this please share some photos? What do you think? The 35% tint suppose to reject 48% of the solar energy/heat, 21% visible light transmittance and 8% visible light reflected. This is what I have been told by Professional tint shop.

Limo tint is significantly darker than 35%. Check out danielizzle's 5% tint on BP.

Aye, limo (5%) is very dark. The 2012 is the first car that I didn't use 5% on (rear). I went 15% because the tint was given to me and I wanted to try a shade lighter than my normal tint job. :)

If you want the best heat rejection then look for high end ceramic tint. If you just want privacy and a darker look then normal cheaper tint will work just fine and save you a lot of money.

The problem with the photos posted by the OP s they are all taken at angles. This does not give a real representation of what the tint looks like when viewed from the side. The tint will appear dramatically lighter when viewed from the side on a sunny day.

Example. 35% front and 5% rear

Same but at a slight angle

I did 9 windows at 35% last week on the BP.
So, can I spray windex onthe tint to clean the doggie nose prints off, or do I need special cleaner?

No. Use a non-ammonia based cleaner like Invisible Glass.

I was thinking of doing the small wing windows front and back in 5 the back windows and hatch in 18 and the fronts in 35.
I think if you get the wing windows dark enough it will black them out and they will blend in.
    Anyone seen that done?

I had 5% on the small windows front and rear. I should have done the same on my car.

I wonder if the front wing windows are considered "front" windows and therefore technically not tintable in CA... Not that it's a big deal in SoCal, but elsewhere maybe.

Good question. I think if you black it out, the vast majority of the population wouldn't know there's a window there, as that area is covered by body panel on most cars.

Yes, I don't think they are considered front windows,
I don,t really know why they are there. My leaf has them too. They seem pretty useless

Yeah, but I was just wondering if a cop wanted to be a dick about it, could he give you a fix-it ticket for tinting that wing window? I'm guessing yes. It would be lame, but I think it would stick.

Meh, I do not know about useless. If that was solid, that would be a pretty big blind spot. I know in my 2007 Prius, the wing window is a lot smaller and I thought that was a pretty big blind spot.

That'd be the least of your worries considering you have 30% on the front windows and would be cited for that instead. It's not like you'd be singled out for blacking out the small windows. Moreover, unless the cop is a Prius owner, I doubt he'd actually notice it.
