I did not remove the backing on the film. I put it in front, then snapped the original blue plastic thingie back in place, to provide support for the film, then snapped the entire unit back in place. So, it is entirely reversible.

On Bliz Prl, the Blue background looks great, but plating (or painting?) the emblem itself Gold would look quite nice ... and match the B & G of "my" UC Berkeley.

Since the emblem's surface is conductive, simple plating might work, right?
Or, might the "chrome" need to be removed first?
But, that might just leave non-conductive plastic, right?

Maybe a "gold" spray paint would be easier?

Has anybody tried gold on the GenIII emblems?
    Thanks, Gary

I'm sure you could find reflective material and use that if that would be enough for you.

Just wanted to thank the thread author as I used your front and back guide to replace mine. I also sprayed the chrome logos with lens tint to give the black chrome effect with I think more matches my Prius's color.

I added some photos to my gallary.

Painting it will work, but it may not last very well.

The best solution is to contact local trophy shops. If they don't do it themselves, they should know a supplier than can use Vacuum Deposition to gold chrome it.

any idea if the toyota camry front emblem fits the prius?

rather, i really like that "metal mesh" backing it's got and would love to see it either in black or silver, but on a prius.
