Looking for some ideas / options for powering my front dash cam with hidden wiring that will be mounted near the rear view mirror.

I had everything torn apart tonight to install my stereo, but was having issues fishing wiring down through the A pillar cover to the interior fuse box, and didn't like the idea of leaving the fuse panel cover off to do an add-a-fuse anyway since it's so close to the driver's left foot (wet feet, water, electricity).

I ended up 3D printing that to give USB power and power for the V1 Radar detector if I want it. I like hardwired, but I hate the wire if the device isn't in the car. This just gets mounted to the windshield and looks factory-ish with no cords hanging down when nothings in the car. As far as wire running, I went down the passengers A pillar, and taped into the factory "cig lighter" for now.

What did you end up doing?

I did the fuse tap but realize it’s not ideal so close to driver.
