Front struts

    After 200K miles it's time (at least) to replace the front shocks and struts. I did a trial run to see how difficult it would be to gain access to the three mounting bolts on top, and found it no trouble at all. Now, most instructions will tell you to remove the wiper motor. It looks like I could gain access to the strut mounting bolts without this added step.
    Can anyone confirm it?

    I can confirm this. I recently did all the struts on mine. The rear struts are even easier. I recommend buying complete assemblies. Makes the take quick and easy.

    Yeah, removing the wiper motor makes things a bit easier, but it CAN be done without taking the wiper motor out. A ratcheting 12mm wrench is VERY helpful if you go that route.

    Robin, I think you may want to consider these:

    2002 TOYOTA PRIUS 1.5L L4 ELECTRIC/GAS Suspension Parts | RockAuto
    and click the (+) sign next to "Strut/Coil Spring/Mount Assembly"

    These are MUCH easier to install, pre-assembled, plus you get all new rubber pieces (that you would otherwise need to hunt around for)

    After 15 years, a can of Liquid Wrench spray may prove helpful.
    Plus a BIG 1/2 in breaker bar, and a torque wrench, for the larger nuts & bolts.
